Westmoreland by Deirdre Bond-Abels for Marcus Fabrics. Deirdre Bond-Abels new Longford Commons quilt began with an antique quilt from the 1890-1910, and the reimagining of traditional Mourning Grey prints as brighter, more cheerful calicoes that bacame her Westmoreland collection. Add in the symmetrical style of the formal gardens of that same era, and the result is her beautiful quilt. Deirdre employs "prepared applique" to create the various flowers, leaves and stems.
