When the Wizard of Oz was released in 1939, the world had been consumed by an economic depression. Much of the landscape seemed as bleak, bland, brown, and hopeless as a stereotypical Kansas plain. "Just wanted to let you know I received my fabric order from you today. It was pouring down rain here in Oklahoma, but the Fed. Ex. truck hand delivered my fabric in a well protected plastic waterproof covering with not a drop of water on the fabric. I was so worried it would be ruined because I have no front porch cover on my house and packages left are subjected to whatever weather conditions are "rolling through."
